If you are someone who is constantly hunting for the perfect foundation for your skin tone,
then this is the video for you. Period
Choosing a foundation was never a cake walk for me. I have done tons of foundation mistakes
in my life.
The only foundation that have ever known in life was of Lakme , the same old school version
of all these foundations which makes you look like a ghost. Yeah.
They had only 4 shades with them and none of them really matched my skin tone.
To be frank i was not really enlightened about all these shades they have for a foundation.
But, we were never too bothered about that also and we used to go to the drugstore and
ask for the foundation , forget about the shades!
For every family functions i used to go out with this obvious white cast on my face looking
like a grey face.
So recently i was really searching for this perfect foundation match for my skin tone
and i got to hear lot of good things about this L'Oreal True Match foundation.
Most of the people who reviewed it kinda considered it as one of the best drugstore foundation
you can find.
It has a lot of wide variety of shades.
i was searching internet a lot about the shades in L'Oreal true match and i stumble upon this
link which said Find your True Match Shade
i was curious, i went in to this link , they had a couple of question to know your skin
undertone and they'll show you a list of skin shades.
From that u can select one shade that u think will matches your skin and basically they
will recommend u one shade from L'Oreal true match series
I found that link really really helpful i will put the link down in the description
box.
i took the quiz, found that my recommended shade for me was w5 Golden Sand and I went
to the nearest L'Oreal Store and asked for this shade
And u guys might be thinking that i lived happily ever after..
Naaaa .... Not so Fast.
So we Indian girls do have a tendency to think that our skin tone is much lighter than we
actually are.
i don't know about everybody but i do have that disease
so we tend to choose a lighter foundation for our skin because everybody wants to be
fairer .
But in effect its end up being grey on our face.
So this lady at the L'Oreal counter handed me over this perfect foundation shade for
me w5 Golden Sand.
she took a teeny tiny bit of the foundation and pat it on my chin and did a patch test.
I really thought that this is the perfect shade.
You know under all those artificial yellow light, i really didn't have a clue that i
had a big grey patch on my chin.
And she, She just lied. A big fat lie!!
See how a perfect match this is !!! Perfect.
And i was like, Ohh , thank you so much Thank
you so much!!
Oh My God I cant believe she sold this to me.
I was so excited, i couldn't wait to try it on my face and when i did it looked like this.
[SCREAM]
Yeah Sad.
So i really lost hope that i will find perfect foundation and after a month i decided to
try again and this time i selected a shade which is two shades darker than w5 , W7 Golden
Amber and TADA!!!!!.
It matched my skin tone perfectly.
[music]
Heres what i suggest.
Take the quiz on L'Oreal site , Yeah i do recommend that because it will tell in you
what range you are in terms of shades.
Go to the nearest L'Oreal store during the day preferably because artificial light can
really fool your eyes.
Test a foundation which is 2 shades darker and a shade lighter that means you have to
test 4 shades in total.
Take a friend with you ask him/her to photograph your face with flash and if you see an obvious
grey patch on your face then that shade is not for you.
Do no believe the SA's completely because ultimately they want to sell their product.
Another thing is that ask your SA to test quiet an amount of foundation on your face
.
I will tel you why , because in my case the SA only took a very little amount and it was
really difficult for me to tell if there was a grey patch on your face.
I will show you how that works out.
I have removed the foundation from my face, this area.
I will be patch testing two of the shades that i have W5 which she sold me and W7 which
actually matches me.
This is W7 and this is W5.
Seeing the shade you might not know any difference between it , but once you patch test it you
will understand.
First i am going to test W7.
So see, it blended correctly.
and if you add a little bit more
there is no difference.
See , its perfect.
and if you add more product , this is again W7
it will get even but does not create a
grey patch.
see, you can see there is no difference between my neck and my face.
So this is called the perfect match.
Now i am testing W5 shade.
So i have just put a teeny tiny amount of that , you cannot actually say whether there
is a grey patch because it also blended in perfectly.
But if you add more product
now there is a grey patch.
See , you see the grey patch.
Compare with your neck and your face .
So there is an obvious grey patch.
But this side this is perfectly fine.
But this, there is a patch.
