My name is Dr. Randall Hyde. On behalf of Expert Village I want to teach you as parents
how to teach your child maturity, how to increase their maturity. Maturity equals commitment.
The more commitments a child has, the greater will be their maturity. In other words they
will say to themselves, I will do this and I won't do that. Think about it. You as a
parent needs to communicate your values, your maturity. What do you stand for? What do you
stand against? Communicate that clearly to your child, they'll respect you for it. Be
loyal to principle first. For example; honesty. If your child is cheating or lying, hold fast
to that principle of honesty. Secondly, be loyal to yourself and others. Have trust or
faith in the principle. Character is the dedication to principles, and value. Good character yields
good results. Bad character yields bad results.
