This is Richard on behalf of expertvillage.com. I'm going to talk about the game of 8 ball
after it has been determined whether you have stripes or solids. Once it is determined whether
you're shooting stripes or solids, the object of the game is to run out all of your balls
and then legally pocketed the 8 ball to win the game. In the game of 8 ball, the 8 ball
is a called pocket game. In call pocket, obvious shots in pockets do not have to be indicated.
Although your opponent has the right to ask you what ball, what pocket you're playing
if he's unsure of the shot. Banks, combinations are not considered obvious calls and they
should be called. When calling the shot, rails, number rails, kisses, care-ons, anything like
that does not have to be called. Only thing necessarily to be called is the ball and the
pocket that you're planning on pocketing that ball. Also a thing to remember is any ball
that is pocketed on a fall, regardless if whether it's the shooters ball or your opponents
ball remains pocketed.
