How to make a good video
In this video you’ll learn how to make a great video
Hey you’re watching Matt TV where we help you create the business and lifestyle you
deserve. Is it time to pump out those five videos a day and get massive traffic? No...
The old mentality ‘content is king’ isn’t true anymore. The equation more content = more
traffic may have worked back in the early 90’s when Google was in its baby years,
but now Google is way too intelligent. So what can we do? The secret is creating pillar
videos.
What is a pillar video? A tutorial style video aimed to teach your
audience something, it is very practical and evergreen-never going out of date. I find
it very interesting, the world’s most successful bloggers focused on creating high quality
pillar content, that people share and recommend to their friends.
High Quality Content = More Long Term Traffic
So what do I write about? The best content to create is the questions
your audience is asking; never assume what content people want-why would you create great
content, to find out nobody’s interested. Finding questions your audience is asking
is easy online-we can use forums and surveys.
Forums Forums are a great place to start, full of
questions that your audience wants to know. Start off by searching for a specific forum
using Google Type: “Niche/Passion” Forum, browse through the forum and compile a list
of the top 30 frequently asked questions, these can be your first 30 videos.
Send a Survey If you have an existing list you can send
them a survey and ask them what they want to know. Sounds pretty straight forward right? “If
you never ask, you’ll never receive”.
Create a Survey Monkey survey with 3-4 Questions around your topic • What frustrates you currently?
• What would you like to learn more about? • What would double your business in the
next year?
Send an email to your audience, talk about your plans to create some awesome content
and that you need their help, including the link to your survey monkey survey. Compile
a list an answers and create content around the top 30 commonly asked questions
The 4 Rules for Creating Good Video Content
Rule #1 Be Extremely Useful Is the content you’re creating useful? Does
it help solve a problem? Some of the most viewed videos on YouTube are in the “How
To” format. Yesterday my bike tyre burst, immediately I went to the YouTube mobile app
and searched “how to change road bike tyre” the video was useful and solved my problem,
can you believe that the 2 minute video had over 500,000 Views? Be useful & your content
will spread.
Rule #2 Authenticity aka Becoming Real Almost always customers will buy whatever
they need of people who they know, like and trust. Why do you think Starbucks Coffee was
so successful? Do the movies have a part where our favourite celebrities were drinking Starbucks
coffee? In the Internet Era Authenticity is a must, we need to be real as were connecting
with real people on the other side of the screen. Authenticity is easy, you don’t
have to pretend or put on some act, just be the real you. One technique that I use is
to write as if I’m writing to a good friend after a couple of glasses of wine, in a very
relaxed conversational style.
Rule #3 Everyone Loves a Story Story is the one of the most forgotten skills
in current day business. It makes your content come alive and become real to your audience,
it’s almost like they’ve been on the journey with you and witnessed the same experience...
When using story make sure it’s relatable to the point you’re trying to make, nobody
wants to leave the shire if they’re not going to mordor to save the world.
Rule #4 Be World Class Become World Class, create amazing content
and be true to your Passion. Don’t rip yourself off by becoming mediocre and producing average
content, seriously, there’s no point otherwise. Choose to give a damn, separate yourself from
the masses of mediocrity, harness your passion and produce meaningful world class content,
then you’ll become the authority go to person for your passion.
