Hello again and welcome to Aquaheat.org.uk. My name is Steve and this time I’m going
to introduce you to an installation we did in Streatham Hill, which is SW2, SW16. Today
it’s not a boiler; today we installed an unvented hot water cylinder; it’s a Megaflo,
which are one of main units that we install. It’s called a Megaflo, this one is an indirect
210 litre Megaflo. So we took out the original cylinder, which was a conventional with big
tanks in the loft and drained all that down. We converted the system down so that everything
is off the mains. It’s nice and environmentally friendly full mains water. No requirements
for pumps because it’s pumped mains. No dirty stored water in the loft that you would
be washing in. Everything is direct from the mains, which is what we’ve got here and
we’ve pressurized the heating with this red vessel here. We’ve got a Magnaclean
fitted on this one, which stops sludge from building up; it’s quite an old system, so
this needs to be cleaned periodically for any sludge in the system. That’s about it
really. We run a condense pipe outside, we’ve left the plug there for the emersion heater
for a temporary back up. The discharge pipe we run outside here, it’s all run under
the floor, run outside the building. We’re registered to install unvented systems. You
have to be certified to install unvented systems, a lot of people say that they can do unvented
systems, but you’ve got to be certified to do it, as it has to be registered with
building control, so it has to be done correctly, which we do and make sure that it’s all
working efficiently, commissioned the system and that’s it really. So it’s a much more
superior system than an old conventional system, an unvented system and if you’d like more
information about us installing a Megaflo for you, then why don’t you drop us an email
to info@aquaheat.org.uk. Thanks very much.
