one of the things that really concerns me
is when i hear people say all you know the demographics is what's happening
president mama's black and white people voted for him
and that's what won the election of this this is become conventional wisdom
across the media
uh... aata hun he read it you know we we just heard tom hayden say words to that
effect i don't think he meant it quite a bit with the way that the republicans
mean it but the republicans being in a very dismissive way
uh... yeah those are those are
it basically like as a racist voter something
i believe that this is a this was a values election that it was a values
boat
and i don't think it had anything to do with us to the color of president on a
scam
or very little to do it
certainly there were said there were probably
more whites who voted against him because the color of his skin than
blacks who voted for him
because bill clinton overwhelmingly took the african-american vote to end and
nobody would ever accuse bill clinton of looking like he's african-american
and peggy's about his as kind of you know pasty white bread as you can get
terms of
white boy looks
uh... not putting down i mean
handsome guy that
as a white guy
so uh... the center for american progress
from sorry the uh... and media matters
put together a bunch of polling that was done
exit polls
olin all within the last few months it just you know good solid polls the
american people not you know liberal polling agencies not boxed use polling
agencies which is good solid polls
and it's what they found
and this is why i say this
this it yes is changing demographics but it's these demographics are changing as
a consequence
not race
but community
on jobs the american people overwhelmingly rank jobs and
unemployment the really really important sixty percent a likely voters said jobs
number one the deficit only eight percent of americans get a rat spur to
you about the deficit eight percent it's not that
taxes two-thirds of americans think we should raise taxes on the richest two
percent

medicare cell over seventy five percent of americans say no cuts to medicare

for poverty
eighty-percent of voters agree with him at the united states our government
