That ever elusive word... inspiration. It can arrive like a tidal wave,
or we can make it happen through the simple act of sitting down and creating.
However it finds you, Reason has a rack for inspiration.
In its core design, Reason is geared towards capturing your inspiring moments when they happen...
and hopefully creating a few more along the way.
The philosophy behind Reason is to keep the technical distractions out of your way and the instruments, sequencer, and mixer always nearby.
Create a new track in Reason and you won't be asked for sample rates, bit depths, or sound card output channels.
One click and you just get a an audio track... instantly... ready to go.
Another click and you're tuning with the built in tuner.
And it's those little things all over the place that make Reason the hyper-creative environment that it is.
It helps you stay focused on the real task in front of you: making music.
The sequencer is there to capture your inspiration.
Reason instruments, audio recordings, and mix automation live side by side in clips that can easily be copied,
pasted, moved, stretched, and sliced just the way you want them.
If you're often refining and rearranging your song structure,
use Blocks to organize your parts into sections that can be easily moved around, extended, or customized where you want them.
Sometimes the only thing needed to inspire is the right sound.
The Factory Sound Bank is often where inspiration begins.
When creating a new Instrument in Reason, browse presets across any instrument,
auditioning literally thousands of sounds each with their own potential.
You just choose the type of sound you want, Reason will load whatever instrument makes that sound.
Those favorite "go-to sounds" can be stored in Reason's file browser so your "5 Meter Grand" piano is even faster to load up.
The loop libraries inside of Reason's sound bank are your own song starters.
A drum beat on top of bass and guitar parts, the Rex loops are designed, and even grouped together,
to get a track built up quickly and ready for your personal touch.
Reason 7 expands the Factory Soundbank even further, with new loops and new styles to try in your music
from the newest house sounds all the way to angry metal loops.
Inspiration comes in many forms.
Even when you've found the perfect sound, you can still find inspiration in processing your sounds for added character.
Just like those retro photo apps on your phone, Audiomatic is about taking you audio to a bygone era when noise, crackles, and lo-fi technology
were as much a part of the song's sound as the melody line.
If it looks simple, it is.
You simply try out one of the sixteen retro presets,
adjust the "Transform" *** to sweep through different tonal characters in the preset,
and adjust the wet/dry balance to suit your taste.
In today's modern digital environment, sometimes what our sounds need most is for them to go wrong, in the right way.
So yeah, Reason has a rack for inspiration...
whether it's capturing inspiration quickly before it's gone, using the sequencer to try new ideas,
finding the perfect sound, or transforming an all too perfect sound...
wherever your inspiration takes you, Reason has a rack for that.
