What was most valuable to me was really the discussion with the peers in the group.
Uh... just their ideas and the sharing of resources will be really, really helpful,
and the speakers were outstanding. It was a great, a great time.
I was thrilled to be accepted to it, and
it was just a valuable use of
a person's time
and uh... I know that
any time commitment in the summertime is kind of precious for teachers, but
it just makes the learning
more expansive and
more valuable.
I think something that we run in to
with teachers in general is we get in to our own rooms or our departments
and day to day,
and we lose sight. Or get in to a school or maybe we think really the only person
concerned about a global perspective,
or the economy international world for students
and so we can get discouraged easily and so its nice to come to these sorts of events and
recharge and regroup
and refocus.
I think that the direct benefit for my students is that I'm more directed now
and focused.
My goals are more clearly defined now, and I have more ways of getting to those goals.
So I'm looking forward to that in the classroom. This is something that you're
not being added your curriculum that you can simply take what you are already doing
and give it a new perspective or a new twist and fuse it into your curriculum rather than
add it on top.
Well I think it will both benefit the students and the school district.
Their thinking will
uh... be broadened and
they'll have a better education because of the efforts that we put in the summertime.
