\f0\fs24 \cf0 Hi guys it's Mike Taylor here from Twoeyesopen Photographer' Collective
with what I think is a really cool little program. It's free, which is awesome, that
you can use for um shooting tethered to your computer. In this case it would be a mac tethered
to a Nikon camera.\ \
And it is called, Sofortbild. That's sorforbilt.\ \
It's a German word, and uh, look it up. You'll find it.\
\ Wow. You can also get it from the app store,
which is where I got it from.\ \
There it is. It's a free program. It's pretty cool.\
\ And what it allows you to do is tether yourself
right to your mac and shoot directly to the computer. \
\ And here I have it here.\
\ As soon as you bring it up, it recognizes
what camera body you have. The settings of your camera, the lens uh, battery power right
here.\ \
And all that kind of stuff.\ \
You're going to have to set up all your settings on your camera ahead of time, but it will
allow you to do some bracketing, and a timer.\ \
You can set the time delay.\ \
The number of shots.\ \
Now I've set up a little still life here with a softbox. Now let's just see what happens
when I press that okay button.\ \
Takes the shot.\ \
And there you go.\ \
There's your image.\ \
Now, you'll have a file folder set up ahead of time, or it can go into uh I believe it
is iPhoto. iPhoto and umm, there's another place you can send it to. Ah, aperture. That's
it.\ \
So you can use aperture, iphoto or a separate folder, to save the images.\
\ You can name them as you wish.\
\ Set the number format as you wish.\
\ You can hide the extensions.\
\ Etcetera, etcetera, start the counters, you
can use hdri format. I'm not sure what that is, but I can look into it.\
\ Jpegs, yada yada yada. All kinds of interesting,
interesting things you can do. \ \
Enable support for older model cameras. The one I'm using here is a Nikon D90, with a
28 70.\ \
So it's pretty cool.\ \
I really enjoy it.\ \
There's not a lot of umm, control from the computer other than those settings there.
For that you'd have to change to a different piece of software.\
\ One I'll talk about in a future post. It's
called NK remote. It's from Breeze systems.\ \
And that one for the most part, is applicable to Nikons, ahhh in conjunction with Windows
based computers. \ \
Of course you can run Windows on a mac using the proper interface software.\
\ So that's probably not a big issue. \
\ So you can probably still use NK remote from
Breeze systems on your mac.\ \
And I think I'm going to talk about that in a future post. \
\ So there you go.\
\ So this ones called Sofortbild, s o f o r
t b i l d.\ \
And over here, in the app store you can download it for free.\
\ There you go.\
\ And you can see I've already installed it.\
\ And that is it for today.\
\ This is Mike Taylor at Twoeyesopen Photographer'
Collective.\ \
And you can see me at twoeyesopen.ca, and read that ahh read all about Sofortbild.\
\ Thank you\
