Today we’re going to cover some hints and tips In DAWGlink which is UGA’s online job posting system
Some topics we’ll cover include job searching within DAWGlink, using the
favorites option
as well as setting up a search agent
So why do you even need to know about DAWGlink?
Primarily just to learn good job search techniques
Also, to keep your favorite jobs organized and easy to find
As well as to simplify your job search by having new job listings automatically sent to your email address
Let's get started
After you’ve logged in
You’re going to click the ‘Jobs’ tab then click ‘Jobs’ again
This will take you to the main job search page within DAWGlink
There are multiple ways in which you can search But today we’ll focus on the ‘key word’ search
Let’s start off with the word ‘management’
And click ‘Search’
So, because you put in ‘management’ it will only pull up words specifically matching the word ‘management’
Let's go back and shorten that keyword with an
Asterisk (*) following it
And by doing this you will bring results that contain the word manage, managing, or
management
Now let’s click on one of the job titles
Just click on the top one
If you're interested in saving one of these positions to go back and look at later
click the star next to the job title
After you’ve clicked the star next to the job title you can easily access these by
Going back to the jobs home page
Clicking the ‘Favorites’ tab at the top
And all of your favorited positions will be listed on this page
Now I’m going to show you how to set up a search agent within DAWGlink
To do this you'll need to go to the ‘Advanced Search’ tab
Scroll down and select a few items you'd like to narrow your search by
I personally recommended you start off pretty broad
Let's start off with the keyword ‘finance’
After you’ve typed in ‘finance’ click the open box next to ‘save as’
After clicking this box type in what you would like the search agent to be named
You’re going to click ‘submit’ below
If you like the results that you receive, you can set up how often you would like
to receive emails from the search agent
By going to be ‘search agent’ tab
Clicking the schedule button
Then you’ll need to enable the search agent by clicking ‘yes’
Then by selecting ‘day’, ‘week’, or month you can select the frequency in which you
Would like to receive emails
After doing this, click ‘submit’ below
And you’re done
