Set your four corners.
You should have your hip welds hidden.
Then, you want to take a look straight up here.
There is usually a reinforcement panel
in the center of the tent.
You want to make sure that reinforcement panel
stays centered on your pipe.
You can see the panel there. You can see the two welds.
You have equal distance on either side of the pipe.
You are ready to start tensioning the tent.
One of the biggest mistakes that people make on these
is that they go around on the tent
and all they do is this.
That is the worst thing you can do on a frame tent.
Eventually, it will tear these straps off.
Also, you are not getting anywhere near the required amount of tension needed.
You need to get in the habit of
tensioning the top with the valance
and then tightening the strap.
Come down here. Pull down on the valance and tighten it up.
You can see how much tighter I have the tent top
than if I just pulled like that.
If I pull this down, I have much more tension on the top.
By pulling on the valance and then the strap, there is more tension.
You want to get in the habit of pulling down on the valance and tightening the strap.
Pull down on the valance. Tighten the strap.
