For 2014, the Millennium has made the decision to position the snake side of the field on pit side.
The reason is simple, we want to develop the game,
to allow players who have a feel for the game to express themselves freely
because coaching in recent years has really affected those players who had that feel for the game.
This was first tested in Chantilly, people may not have noticed but we had a mirrored field with a snake on both sides
and we noticed that the majority of big plays we're happening on the pit side simply
because there was no coaching on that side.
In fact, technically coaching is forbidden, it is in the rules whether it be at Millennium or PSP, on the spectator side.
However from experience, if we allow people to talk and cheer on their teams we cannot prevent coaching.
we cannot prevent coaching, on the spectator side.
In the past we have seen all kinds of coaching
from the stands whether it be singing, prohibited devices,
we have seen many people communicate with players on the field.
To minimise this type of coaching and develop the game,
and players and teams are convinced this will help,
we are putting the snake on pit side. This will alleviate the majority of the problem
whether it be for players or spectators. We will see bigger moves from players.
We will also be adding a large screen
streaming MSTV for the spectators
so they can follow what is happening on snake side.
We are confident that it will really highlight the players, the game and big moves
and it will make things a lot more interesting than it has been in recent times.
