Shapewear has become very popular in recent years and thanks for Gok Wan and others we
all know the wonders it can do.
If you've never worn it before the prospect may seem a little daunting so, i'm going to
talk you through everything you need to know about shapewear.
Firstly you need to know what size to order. Now please don't be tempted to order anything
other than your usual dress size.
This is a size 12-14. Now as you can see shapewewar is already sized accordingly to give you a
similar effect. If you order anything smaller, you'd really struggle to get into it and it
certainly wouldn't be comfortable.
For shapewear sold in bras sizes rather than dress size we recommend you just order your
usual bra size. However if you are more curvaceous around the bottom half, there is an option
to try and alternative bra size to give you more room around the body. This will give
you the same fit in the cup but more generous fit around the hips.
This is Amy, her normal bra size is 36D. As you can see the body shaper fits tight around
her leg.
Now we can see Amy in a 36C. She's gone up a body size and down a cup size to help give
her a smoother fit around the leg line.
If you're tall or simply longer or fuller in the body, you may find that the standard
length body shapers feel a little over stretched, pulling the bust section down and leg openings
up. Not comfortable and not flattering.
Now, you won't find this everywhere but if you shop with us you can choose from a great
selection of body shapers and swimsuits in longer length so you can find the perfect
fit for you.
OK, so you've chosen the right size now you need to know how to get your shapewear on.
As you've already seen it can be smaller in dimension than you might expect and the fabric
can be quite strong.
We would recommend stepping in to the majority of your shapewear. If you try to put it on
over your head you may find that the fabric rolls up in the process and it's very difficult
to pull it down. Obviously for cropped tops and vests, pull over your head. You need to
work it up...
