Hi Fabo here from fabulouSport, it's a beautiful day today here on the Surrey Hills
we are at Box Hill, theatre of the recent road cycling event of the Olympic games
and today we have the chance to test ride the beautiful
Moto Guzzi Norge 1200 GT8v, let's take it for a ride to see how it goes
Great roary sound!
not even half of the throttle open here!
so Fabo, what's your first impression of the bike?
I was quite concern about the handling of such a heavy bike
you know it's a 1200cc bike, 255kg, but I have to say I'm very impressed in how easy it is to handle!
the bike is very well balanced, it goes from one side to another with ease, even at a very slow speed, fantastic!
it's amazing how easy it is to handle, fantastic!
the weight is very well distributed down low in the bike, which makes it feel much lighter to manouver
so Fabo, what are you enjoying the most about the bike?
I'm really enjoying the power distribution of this bike, it has got a lot of low torque, which is very helpful when you carry a lot of luggage, or a pillion passenger, riding up the hills, up the mountains
I love the torque of this bike, as you open the throttle, it just flies away! Grrrrr
so, how does the bike handle the corners?
oh, very easily, it takes the corners beautifly, it has got a lot of grip which gives you a lot of confidence, and it has got a lot of stability, so it comes out of the corner in the line that you've chosen at the beginning.
well, it is a heavy bike, but let me show you something. If you want to put it on the central stand
you just put your foot here, grab it here, put a little pression on your leg and look how easy ..done!
That's as simple as a little mopet, unbelievable for a 255 kilos bike!
and have a look at this seat, it's fantastic, look how wide it is, very well padded with this jelly feeling.
We've been riding all day, up and down the Surrey Hills, and I feel very fresh and I'll be ready ready to go for miles and miles..
well, as you might have noticed, it has got these very beautiful panniers, well integrated on the bike,
..so let's see if I can show you how to open them up and, what everyone wants to know, if they fit a big helmet such as this one
this is a flip-up helmet, very big, so let's just put it in whichever way
and I try to see if it fits in easily, and yes, once again ..done, Fantastic!
Ok, I am a 5 foot 8 and I find a very comfortable position, all the controls are right where they should be
it's very easy to read the speed as you go along, and as you can see if you turn the key
the instruments do a little check on the bike,
this Moto Guzzi Norge has got this nice electric windshield, so if you press this button it goes up, and it's a fantastic protection
and this other one to go down, on the other side
I am very proud of this historical italian brand Moto Guzzi, to have made such a great machine for touring, see you later, BYE BYE!
traffic, traffic ..it's a Saturday, what can you do, you know? :)
..but we still enjoy with the bike! :)
