One of the things I love about New York in the evening is that I've lived in various
cities all over the world and everywhere I have always lived, there has been always this
what I refer to as midnight panic. The bars are shutting down, the restaurants are shutting
down and you have to kind of get your last thing in. That doesn't exist in New York.
You can get anything anytime of day in New York.
One of my favorite things to do late in the evening, especially when we have friends in
from out of town, is to go to Blue Ribbon on Sullivan Street. At 3 o'clock in the morning
you can get a five tier tower of the most gorgeous seafood then you've ever had in your
life. A great bottle of wine, a great bottle of champagne, whatever it is that you want.
And it's like you have suspended time and that to me is what New York really is so good
at is just being accessible twenty-four hours a day.
