Going somewhere?
From Gympie in the north
to Coolangatta in the south
and out west to Helidon,
you can travel seamlessly with a go card
on all TransLink bus, train and ferry services.
TransLink has a go card that's right for you.
It's blue for adults 15 years and over.
Children between 5 and 14 years have orange cards
and concession prices apply.
Concession go cards are green.
They are available to full time secondary
and tertiary students over 15,
pensioners and some defence force veterans.
Senior go cards are maroon, and for people
who hold a current Seniors Card
issued by any Australian state or territory.
Pensioner and senior go card users who make 2 journeys in a single day
travel free for the rest of the day.
Fares using a go card are a least
30 per cent cheaper than a single paper ticket!
When you make 9 go card journeys in a week (Monday to Sunday), you travel free
for the rest of the week.
Also you save 20 per cent on your fare when you travel during off-peak times.
You can buy go cards at hundreds of locations in South East Queensland
wherever you see the buy or top up icon.
You can also buy online or by calling 13 12 30.
All ready to travel?
Touch your go card to TransLink's logo at the beginning of your journey.
Listen and watch.
1 beep and you get a green light for adult cards,
2 beeps and an orange light for children, seniors and concession cards.
Getting a red light or a cross?
Try again, or try touching another card reader.
Now, be sure to touch off at the end of your journey.
Your fare is automatically deducted from your card balance,
and it's display along with your remaining balance.
Travelling by train?
Touch your go card to the card reader on the platform,
touch off when you get off the train and have finished your journey.
Some train stations have fare gates.
Touch your card on or off and follow the green arrows to see which gates will open.
On the buses, enter at the front and touch on at the card reader near the driver.
To exit, touch off your card at either the front or back of the bus.
River journey?
Have your go card ready to touch on as you board the ferry or CityCat,
touch off as you leave the ferry.
When transferring between bus, train or ferry, touch on and off each trip,
except if you're changing trains at the same station.
You have up to an hour to continue your journey
and you must start your final transfer within 3 and a half hours of your first touch on.
You have 6 hours to complete your journey.
Check your card balance at any fare machine.
To see the balance and the last ten transactions,
press check balance on the screen,
then touch your card to the yellow target.
Finished? Press cancel.
Registering your go card
protects the money on your card
from the time you report it lost or stolen.
Lost your registered card?
Phone TransLink immediately on 13 12 30.
Your card will be blocked, so no-one else can use it.
Unregistered cards can't be blocked,
so you will need to buy a new card.
Funds running low?
To top up your go card at a fare machine,
press add value.
Touch your go card to the yellow target.
Select how much you would like to top up.
Pay by cash, or EFTPOS.
Credit card facilities are available in some locations.
Touch your go card to the yellow target again
to confirm the transaction.
All fare machines at busways
and busway interchanges take credit cards.
You can also top up at any go card retailer,
just look for the top up icon.
