Rice and wheat both are cereals, their predominant nutrient is carbohydrate, the ability to raise
glucose levels is more in rice, that is the glycemic index of rice is more than wheat.
So having said that, there are different types of rice available right now. Starting from unpolished rice
to single or one time polished rice to refined or white polished rice. So the more it is
polished, the more it can raise the blood sugar level, that is the absorption is high.
So that is the reason why instead of rice people prefer wheat which is slow to digest
and raises blood glucose levels slowly. As said before all rice is not bad, unpolished
rice or brown rice is as healthy as wheat is. Not only the quality the quantity of the
rice and the foods taken along with the rice make a lot of difference. If you are a rice
lover or a rice eater, by making your food wholesome, then eating rice is also equally
good.
