before me
we have the output North called in just a moment
when the circus up and come away with a beautiful
photograph Adorama TV presents
you keep shooting with Bryan Peterson for younger you need
and creative techniques that will help a hot tub with the skills
hey it's a homecoming for me
back in 1970 when I first picked up a camera
all I made a visit the Falls State Park
I lived at the time in Salem Oregon and this particular Park Oregon's largest
State Park is 22 miles east of Salem Oregon
before me we have the upper North
falls here in the park
in economy I got my camera all set up foreground interest
water coming down here in the course is this a water polo back /url
I'm using the 17-35 in just a moment
for a surplus of and come away with a beautiful
photograph live on Bryan Peterson and you are watching at around the TV
there's a number of factors that go into the success on the photograph like this
number one we ask ourselves what up a lead up to feel concerned do we have law
who want to use immediate foreground all the way to the distal infinity
to we also want to take the manager the motion opportunity here so we're going
to use in combination
with a small aperture like 22 were then gonna be utilizing
because in that small aperture a slow shutter speed in addition
that slow shutter speed will definitely emphasize the most near the water but
we're also going to be adding all on
polarizing filter you'll see why
but the point is what that is gonna reduce glare
it is on the service on this one I will show you in a moment
before nap for example how the polarizer comes into play
with the polarizer that also going to increase
exposure time consider shooting incident 22
palette order the second really shooting up 22
had a full second roughly two stops is what the polarizers gonna be taking away
in turn to the overall like so we compensate for that
through the lens metering tells us we now gotta go to
shutter speeds slower so other thing on a point out
use near walk up
and finally cable release know when you've made a lock up you gotta do two
clicks
click number one what's the mir click number two
starts the exposure so near lockup is in place
compositions all set up let's first the mall take a picture here
near lock up one press into
take a look at that photograph that without polarization
now I'm gonna turn the outer ring at the polarizer
then as I do you will see the glare
as you look in the camera you'll see eg where dissipate take another picture
one clip from your locks up number to click the exposure starts
and take a look at that to a little side by side it's so obvious
which one is polarizing which is not you got little only that a substantial
reduction in the glare
obviously the one with less claire has been polarized now
well above photograph it's compelling with mother nature at its best but
remember you are in charge of your own creativity what are you gonna do the
dresses up in drag a little bit more compelling
wanna throw them fall color into this thing
somebody may have a problem with this but I personally obviously don't care
about to add something to the photograph and in my opinion
I'm simply doing what mother nature intended
haha sup
when I got here is i gathered up but release
I'm gonna put these leaves confront the rock
like so
another one here and finally
like sup
now
we go back
double check our composition
lawyer
looks good
polarizes in place 1-click merely observe sucking click
exposure done
take a look at that compare that with the polarized shock
with no leaving now the poll I shot with leaves I think
it's a little bit more compelling
until i doing on mother nature intended light
you can do this
