Hello, my name is Kent Amstutz and I’m a developmental-behavioral pediatrician and
a general pediatrician as part of Boys Town Pediatrics. I trained at Des Moines University
in Des Moines, Iowa. I did my residency and internship in the Air Force at Keesler Air
Force Base, Mississippi. I also trained in my developmental-behavioral pediatrics fellowship
at Madigan Army Medical in Tacoma, Washington and Monroe-Meyer Institute here in Omaha,
Nebraska. I’ve been a part of Boys Town Pediatrics since August of 2000.
In the Air Force I really got interested in something called developmental-behavioral
pediatrics. That’s a specialty that includes any child with any developmental disability.
That can include Autism, any intellectual disability; cerebral palsy, spina bifida,
down syndrome.
It includes any type of disability that would require some extra care and extra management.
If I was to tell a person who was going into medicine what to do, the number one would
be listen. Listen to that parent and listen to the patient to get the full history and
what the parent is concerned about and then be able to find solutions. I’m all about
solutions and not just band aids.
I think Boys Town Pediatrics is by far the best group that I’ve ever been with. We
show a caring spirit. We really want to find the diagnosis and treat your child the best
that we can. We want to find the exact, right solution and diagnosis.
We won’t give up until we do.
