Hello, this is JB, I'm with Austin Home Brew Supply here in Austin, Texas. Today we're
talking a little bit about equipment related to making beer and wine. One of the things
that you're going to need to do when you're making beer or wine or cider or what have
you, is you need to sanitize your containers. In this case, if it's a glass container we
call it a carboy--okay, c-a-r-b-o-y. But glass carboys are kind of a staple of the home brewing
industry. Now, getting these guys to drain out fully can be a little challenging, so
what's why I wanted to show you this guy here. This guy is called a bottle drainer--or carboy
drainer, pardon me. So what this guy does is once you get your carboy completely clean
and sanitized, and you're ready to drain it off of sanitizing solution, you simply take
this guy--these guys are great too, I have a few of these. Take this, take your empty--you
drain out most of your stuff, invert it, put it right on there. It's going to drain the
excess of the sanitizing solution off of it, allowing it to drain out of it, so that when
you're ready to utilize it, you can simply take it off of there, invert it, and fill
it. And that's it.
