Hi thanks for joining me for December Daily process video 6 using ephemera's vintage garden,
days of december journal kit. Here's where we left off on the back of this book page
and i'm just going to attach this red chevron paper to the book page. And on top of that,
I am going to add this file folder. I'm trying to decide whether I want the top on the bottom
like this, or the tab on top like this. So first I'm going to attach this red paper,
and I'm using Zip Dry which I absolutely love. It is rather stinky but it dries clear and
if any of it oozes out of your project it just rubs right off without any residue. So
I'm gonna attach this red piece down on three sides, so that it forms a large pocket on
my page, and there you can see I can add tags underneath. I'm gonna do the same with this
file folder. Just add glue on three sides to form a pocket. I decided to put the tab
on top. So here you can see I have made two pockets. So here I am adding the magnet. And
you can see the file folder covered with patterned paper. So this bingo sheet I'm going to attach
to some green patterned paper and I can journal on the backside since it's white. I really
want to put it in this front pocket but I end up having to use it in the back pocket.
Going to add this die cut and journal spot on top. Going to add these cute photo corners
to the top and the bottom and I'm going to round the corner with my quarter inch corner
chomper. Make sure you don't hold your fingers on the bottom of the punch because you can
pinch yourself, so don't do what I'm doing! Making sure to just add glue to two sides
so that I can slip my picture underneath. Those photo corners come in the kit. And here
I'm going to cut out or attach actually, this "ho ho ho" journal spot that comes in the
kit, and I am attaching it to this red piece of cardstock with my perfect layers tool using
the 1/8th inch border all the way around. I'm going to put this into the front pocket
underneath the file folder and i'm going to attach this file tab to the side of it, so
that I can pull it out of this pocket a little easier. Here
you can see the "tis the season" and some washi tape over there on the file folder.
It's really cute. So now we're moving on to the next page. I'm gonna use these two envelopes.
They are the Recollections brand Kraft envelopes. I'm going to attach them like this and it'll
open and close. The top envelope is too wide because my binding has to go there, so I have
to cut off an inch. I have to cut it off the bottom so that I can maintain the flap up
on the top. So I'm going to take off just an inch from the bottom. And they're going
to attach just like that. And I've allowed room for the binding holes. So this is actually
the way it's going to look. I turned the envelopes around. Ok so first I am going to seal the
bottom of the envelope to form a pocket. I'm going to cover the outside of this envelope
with this green paper and I'm just going to trace out the shape of the envelope opening
and cut that out with my scissors. Attached that with my Zip Dry and I'm going to attach
this red paper to the shorter envelope. Now the red paper will not slide all the way in
to the shorter envelope so you have to use your bigger envelope and slide that in, so
that you can trace the envelope opening. So now that I have that cut out, I'm just going
to attach it down to this envelope. So now I'm going to attach the two envelopes together,
just put the adhesive on the flap and when you attach the other envelope you want to
make sure that you don't cover the crease of the flap because you want your envelopes
to close nicely. So now I'm going to attach this piece to the top of my envelope, and
this is how it will look in my book. So here I have attached the magnet to the flap, so
that when i close my page, it will stay shut, and I'm going to attach this green paper to
the flap. So I'm just going to attach this patterned paper to the flap being sure not
to cover the crease. I've cut out this ephemera piece, put it on red card stock, and i'm going
to attach it to this doily on the front of the page, figure out the position I want and
I am going to hold down the doily with one hand, lift up the bottom corner and add glue.
Making sure that it's in the proper position and securing that down and then adding glue
to the edges and the top. So I've attached that ephemera piece on two sides to form a
pocket and now I'm just adding this little fishtail banner to the top. I want to add
this banner to the top as well but it blends in a little too much with the background paper
so I'm going to adhere it to this red piece of cardstock with a 1/16th inch border all
the way around. And that way it will have a defined edge and stand out on the page.
So here you can see I'm attaching it to the top of the page, slightly overlapping the
green banner and I was going to use that journal card but since it's matted on red cardstock
it didn't look right so I will use it someplace else. And now I'm just adding patterned paper
to the other side of the flap being sure not to bypass the crease of the flap so that it
closes properly. And cut the excess off. So here's how this page ended up. I have the
pocket at the bottom with the banners at the top, and on this flap on the inside, i've
added this Greeting Cards title, and that came from a separate kit. It's called the
days of december Christmas planner kit and I'm going to hold it up close so you can see
what it's called. And that's a great kit when you want to make a holiday planner. So inside
this envelope I have a cards checklist that comes in that kit. I've added a die cut and
a journal spot to that envelope. And here i'm just going to add some names of some people
I want to send cards to. So on the backside of this page, I'm going to add this address
list sheet and I want to have more than just five addresses of course, so I'm going to
take a second address sheet and I'm going to add it on top like that, so that it flips
open. The binding has to go there, where I am tapping, so i have to position this address
sheet slightly to the left. Here I am just going to add a magnet. I've added the magnet
under that little circle piece right there and i did that because i forgot to add it
first underneath that striped paper, so I just put that little circle piece there on
top to conceal it. And that's how the flap's going to open. I'm just going to glue that
down and there you go! So now I'm going to cut a third sheet and that will go underneath
the flap there, and add the magnet. So this will be the adjacent page and that is a file
folder and I'm just going to add the same stripe patterned paper to cover up the file
folder. So I'm going to end this video here and if you have any questions please let me
know and I would be happy to help you in any way that I can. Thank you for watching and
I hope this video was helpful and I'll see you next time! Bye!
