Hi, I thank you for joining us for another tutorial and this one will be how to share a document in Adobe Connect.
First I'd like to show you the different file types you may actually share in Connect
its PowerPoint files, Adobe P. D. F's
swf files, flv or Flash files, jpegs, mp3, and mp4
but first let's upload content. This is what you should see on your Connect screen.
so, if you go here to click on the down arrow by Share My Screen
and then go down to Share Document
when you click, this screen will appear
for you and as you can see there are
on the left hand side, there in the left hand screen there are five different areas that you can actually have files in and
let me go through this and explain them for you
the first section
the Share History this displays content that you have shared in a Connect meeting site
the secondary is your Whiteboards
Adobe Connect is really great if you find it appropriate for your courses whenever you create a Whiteboard it will save it for you
so again you can come back and recall one that you may have moved away from
and this is very handy I think
the third area is your Uploaded Files
now this area displays content that is uploaded for the current meeting site
in other words when you upload, what you upload into this meeting site is available for this
meeting site only and again it will be be right here in the uploaded files area
the next area is called My Content
this area displays content that is stored in your personal folder
on Eastern's Connect server
the next area is your Shared Content area
this area contains the uploaded files, or add-ins made available to all Hosts by your Connect Administrator
so that is a rundown of all the different areas that we have. While I am here in Shared Content I wanted to show you that as this content is
being shared with you, you have the ability to actually create folders out here and when you do, you can actually here in the
Shared Content area open these folders and then you can have access to anything
any of the add-ins or anything that you feel is necessary from that area
So, let's go back to the Uploaded Files area
and as you can see what I've done here is if you look to the lower left corner you'll see is a button where I can Browse My Computer
just like an attachment, I clicked on this, I went out to my system and uploaded the
chapter one PowerPoint that I want to show my class later today
so here it is
so what I need to do now is after uploading it you can just hit
chapter one, click on that
and then go down and click on the OK button
and your PowerPoint will automatically open for you when your uploading that. So, here we have just uploaded this PowerPoint
now let's go back
close the PowerPoint and now let's go back
to share the documents
later on today or whenever you want to meet with your classroom, you come in to see this screen again to share the
document itself just again come to the down arrow by Share My Screen, click on Share Document
and again you have this window appear. Here is your chapter one PowerPoint when you
highlight that the OK button will also get bright and
again by hitting the OK button your PowerPoint opens again
one thing I want to tell you about is when you have a PowerPoint or any type of file you are sharing open
then you will see there is a green line around the stop sharing button
and that is how you would close whatever document you are sharing, you can just click here it
will close the document and you will go back to your Connect screen
One other thing that's important here is, in the lower right you will see the Sync button what this means is that
as you share documents and go through documents with your students
