Artbooking Made Easy - Crush on Artbooking
Hi, I’m Kristine from Close To My Heart
and today on Artbooking Made Easy I am proud to admit
that I’ve got a crush on Artbooking.
I’m going to bring two totally different worlds together.
We’ve already told you that Artbooking is really for elevated high end art work
and typically My Crush books are meant to be “on the go” scrapbooking
to document your life as it happens.
They seem to be incompatible, but they’re not.
You might be wondering how to incorporate My Crush and Artbooking
and still have it be “on the go”.
Now we know that if you’re working with Artbooking
you’re probably having left over bits and pieces and odd shaped pieces
because we want you to save all of your pieces. We do, we’re scrap bookers, that’s how we roll.
Now and perhaps you even start designing a layout or a mini book
after you’ve cut some pieces and you think
“Oh I don’t want to go that direction.”
Put those pieces aside because they can come in so handy
whether you’re using our Modville, or our Bluebird book.
Now I’ve gotta show you some of these really, really cute pieces
because the great thing about a My Crush book is that it gives you a jump start
on a completely finished page but then you can add some of your other pieces too.
So let’s first of all take a quick peek at my cute Bluebird book.
I’ll just show you a couple of different spreads.
Now, it works great to add a border,
an overlay, look at this great title.
The pages of your My Crush books are sized
seven inches wide by ten inches high,
so anything that you cut at real dial size,
that’s within those parameters is going to fit beautifully.
So you can scale down an overlay.
You can scale down a title.
Make sure you’re using real dial size so you get the biggest *** for your punch.
Now look, now on this particular page,
this darling little photo frame was already there
but other than that the page was a little bit open and empty.
I could’ve used journaling or whatever else I wanted to
but look at these fun heart shaped flowers with stems,
cut from Artbooking that I’ve been able to incorporate.
My fun little Smiles title.
So you can use the design elements
to kind of adapt and simplify right at home.
Look how easy that is. I’ve added a fun doily here.
And then my last spread, using a photo mat,
this is a very, very open page.
It might make you go “I don’t know exactly what I’m going to put on this.”
Add one of the oversized photo mats and even a standard sized photo and you’re good to go.
Have to point out this!
This actually is a bracket, see this bracket shape?
That is a photo mat.
But cut at real dial size and placed here
so that I can fit it right across my 7 inch page
it makes a perfect, tadah! pocket look how cute that is.
Here’s my 10 things piece to that’s also really fun to work with on Artbooking.
Let’s also now cross over and let me show you
how the same kind of concept works in the Modville book,
different color scheme I’ve just simply cut my pieces
using colors, cardstock colors and pat-patterned paper
that really work well with Modville.
Look at this, this is actually from the Sightseer Stamp Set
this little airplane is a stamped image happens to fit perfectly
over the image that’s printed on the base of the piece.
Really really easy to add a variety of collected shapes
weather those be photo matts,
whether they be overlays,
again I can cut that overlay at a very very fine fine size
and it adds a little bit more texture and background to whatever I’m doing.
You’ll also see that in some of these I’ve worked with the embellishment
and accessory packs that are available for Modville and Bluebird,
just takes it one more step up.
Still makes it really easy for me to do my Scrapbooking on the go.
Got some fun borders.
Got these great shapes that I've then stamped on,
it’s so easy to work with no matter what I’ve got.
Whether I’ve got a fun icon, a boarder, or even some of my title pieces
that can be sized down and work great.
Here look at this; this is actually a page
for um intended for a mini book.
What I like about this is that because it’s already got holes in it
it’s actually really easy for me to add right into the binding
of one of my My Crush books I could tie it in with a ribbon and I’ve added a fun additional page.
So if you absolutely love the ease of My Crush Books
but the elegance and elevated artwork style of Artbooking
now you can bring those two great worlds together
and have a fabulous crush on scrapbooking yourself.
