Hey everyone, My name is Nuh Mohammed Shaheer and I am here to talk about rainbows.
I am a kindergartner at Cottage Street Elementary. When I went to Niagara Falls I saw a double
rainbow. Since then I have been curious about rainbows.
A rainbow happens when white sunlight somersaults inside a round water droplet. The raindrop
acts like a mirror and "refrects" ('reflects+refracts') the white light.
The white light splits into seven colors from red to violet. Red has the longest wavelength
and violet has the shortest wavelength. Do you know why white, brown and black are
not in the rainbow? White is not in the rainbow because white
separates into seven colors. Black is not in the rainbow because black
is the absence of light. And brown is not there because brown is a
combination of colors which are not together in the rainbow.
As much as I love rainbows I would love my school to win the science challenge so I can
do fun science projects at school. Thanks for watching. Bye.
