Welcome to Coastal Companion Weekly Georgia Edition, I'm Joe Talentino.
School is almost out. I and all the school kids and teachers in the country
just can't wait. Summer means relaxing in the sun,
grilling out, sleeping in, well maybe not for me.
My pick is definitely an event that lets you know that summer has started.
My pick of the week is the Beach Bum Parade on Tybee Island.
Come on, what else do you do when school is out? Sign me up.
I'd be a great beach bum. But be warned, this is not your regular parade.
Sure there are floats and cars and the usual parade stuff,
but the main objective for the parade is to get everyone soaked.
The people in the parade are armed with plenty of water throwing weapons.
And spectators are armed with water guns, buckets and what-nots.
It's basically a big free for all water fight.
A perfect event for all us kids, and some of you adults too.
In any case, the popular Beach Bum Parade takes place on Butler Avenue on May 15th.

That concludes this week's episode. Come back next week,
where we tell you everything to do for Memorial Day Weekend.
Until then, have a great week.
