Welcome everybody. Today. My name is Lars-Erik Robinson and welcome to my studio. Today we're
going to be talking about how to draw a giraffe. Giraffe's are interesting. The texture on
their skin is almost looks like one of those bricks, fake bricks on house. HaHa!! But as
you can see, I did the penciling here to get the basic shape of it. Because of my caricature
experience, I think I did the head a little bit too big. But fore this demonstration,
it works just fine. Get the eyes in there. So I did the basic shape of it and we'll take;
you don't have to use marker all the time. I'm comfortable with it now. The best way
is to always use pencil and there is nothing wrong with pencils. Has a very small mouth
right there. Has a little horns on top. And this kind of, because I'm using a marker,
helps you guys see it a little bit better of what we're doing. And there's the legs,
it's laying down. We'll have it laying down here, relaxing. Art is so fun some times.
It's just amazing the things that you can do. The talent that I got, that God gave me,
is just amazing. I'm so blessed to be able to go out and meet people and do what I do.
Here's his body. It's laying down. It almost looks like he's laying down like a dog here
right now. But it has hooves on it here. So you always what to think about the foundation
of what it's laying in, the ground. You want to put a little bit of shadow underneath it.
And I know on this picture, it has a tail laying right there. But we should have the
tail coming up here because on giraffes it has kind of a wavy end of the tail there.
Alright, once again, we'll lay in these fake looking brick. Because of time today, you could keep adding
in more brick but you got to think about the shadow. Which you can ink it in or you can
add shadows with this nice pencil stick that I used in the beginning. So we'll add the
shadow. We'll think about where the light is coming from. Go underneath it, add in their
environment and the bushes in Africa, trees. And there we go, a giraffe. Well, thank you
guys so much for joining me again. Hope that explains to you how to draw a giraffe.
