Today on our 2011 Buick Enclave, we'll be test fitting the Thule Apex Swing 4-bike
carrier, part number TH9027. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier
into the opening of the hitch, allowing the integrated hitch pin to fall into the pin
holes, and then we'll turn the black *** to engage our anti-rattle device. Now with
our Thule Apex secured to our Enclave, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see
how the two fit together. We have about 17-1/2" of ground clearance at the rear of the bike
rack. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of our Enclave is at the
rear bumper, about 1" away, and we've added about 11" of overall length to
our Enclave with the Thule Apex secured. We can now pull the gray lever at the top of
the mast to swing the cradle arms out, and with the cradle arms out we've added about
35" to the overall length
of our Enclave.
