You have heard about working over seas or abroad or in a foreign country and you've
also heard about needing a work visa, but you don't know where exactly where to begin
or how to start the process. Hello, I'm Robert Todd and I'm here to answer the question,
how to file for a work visa. Well the first thing you're going to need is a job in a foreign
country because you're going to need that employer of that job in the foreign country
to provide you with a letter of sponsorship. You're also going to have to check with the
consulate of the country where you intend to work to find out what their specific standards
and procedures are. Now many consulates are located in Washington DC. So you can start
there to locate the consulate of the country that you need to work with. If you can't find
the consulate location in Washington DC, you may contact the state department of the United
States to find out information on how to contact that consulate. Again, you're going to need
at the very least, a letter of sponsorship, you're going to need a passport and you're
going to have to pay fees. If it gets too complicated for you, hire a lawyer who specializes
in this area of the law. It will be money well spent and time sell served. I'm Robert
Todd, and thank you for watching.
