I am a musician with my heart and soul
and therefore found it really hard when my hearing deteriorated...
...and my hearing loss became more severe.
I was barely able to hear my guitar.
I wasn't afraid of the surgery,
I was much more afraid of losing my hearing.
That's why I decided to go for the surgery.
And if you really want something, you are not afraid to do it.
My ENT doctor explained everything clearly to me
and afterwards I didn't have any pain or complications.
Having the implant activated was a dream.
In those four weeks after surgery, I looked forward to nothing else but to...
...being switched on, to hearing again.
And it was an absolute highlight.
Being able to hear everything again was an indescribable feeling.
I could even hear a pin dropping.
It was absolutely wonderful.
Of all the hearing aids that I tried
There wasn't a single one that could do what a hearing implant does.
There is no acoustic feedback, no whistling,
no interfering sound that you can get with hearing aids.
The ear canal is free and I can hear really, really well. I am totally satisfied.
For me there is definitely no better solution.
I have two implants and of course I hear better with them
because everything is in stereo.
Musicians know what hearing in stereo means:
hearing everything from the left, from the right, from the front, from the back.
The system makes it possible
to play music and have conversations like before.
My social life with the Vibrant Soundbridge is such
that I can join in again,
that I can actively participate in conversations
and throw in my two pennies worth.
That I can meet and sit together with my friends
and listen to their jokes again,
which I wasn't able to hear before (implantation).
And this is just fantastic and I couldn't be happier now.
I am so grateful that this system exists.
