My name is Mary. I come from Kenya. Currently, I’m doing my PhD in Plant Biotechnology
under the supervision of Professor James Dale. The most challenging situation I experienced
was the separation from my family and, of course, that brought almost, brought me down
completely but I really thank the International Service providers. They kept me, they consoled
me a lot and they gave me a hope that if I wanted my family to join me, they can. So,
that again, changed my emotions but, generally, with the schoolwork I didn’t have any problem
because I had very good bench Supervisor who kept me on going. So, even on the social life
was so hard, at least the academic side, I was well-kept. So, but I kept on even seeking
advice from my peers and they told me, “You will make it,” and that is how slowly I
started coping up.
