Now if you have decided to go with session musicians or perhaps sectional or symphonic
musicians, orchestral musicians, who plays strings or horns or other instruments that
you aren't capable of playing up to par on your own, you'll need to find these people.
Now the first thing to do would be word of mouth. Ask your band members, if you have
band members, or other people that you know in the music scene who they might recommend.
That way it kind of takes some of the guessing out of this process. So that hopefully you
can find some people who are both reliable and talented enough to pull off the music
that you've written for them. Another way that you might go about this process is to
call local schools and colleges and ask the professors of the music department if they
either know students that they could recommend who would be both reliable and talented, or
perhaps the professors themselves if they do do session material. You might be able
to find some very talented people. Again, look back to your budget to see what you could
afford and what they would charge.
