A shifting aspect is where newcomers to EFT can sort of lost and they think that mistakenly
that EFT isn't working. So lets say that you're working on an event that happened and you're
feeling really angry about it and it involved an incident with your boss. You're working
on that and the anger subsides but then the new thing that shows up is some sadness, or
you may be thinking of an incident that happened to you earlier in your life. And basically
a shifting aspect is just a different aspect of the problem that needs to be worked on.
One of the ways to find shifting aspects when you're using EFT especially in a practitioner
client role is when you ask the person to vividly imagine what happened and see if they
can identify different parts of it, for instance what they could smell what they could see
what they could hear and all of that will bring up any remaining issues that have to
be worked on. In a fear in an intense fear a shifting aspect could be you're working
on fear of flying but it's also the fear of the turbulence, the fear of loss of control,
the fear of being trapped in a moving object, it could be that that reminds you of some
incident where you were locked in a car for hours on end when you were a child. So in
order to release that general fear of flying, there are little pieces that are connected
to that that need to be addressed as well.
