I'd like to talk to you about my beloved Glenmorangie original.
Distillation in the tallest stills in the scotch whisky industry, maturation in the very finest American oak casks gives this whisky an incredible softness and complexity of flavor and very much defines the Glenmorangie house style.
However, it's a lot more personal to me than that because this was in fact the very first malt whisky I have ever tasted way back in 1984.
So let's actually taste some whisky now.
So I am going to pour myself a generous measure of Original so you can see the beautiful bright pale gold color that it has.
And when you gently swirl, and that very much makes me want to just to dive into the glass.
But I am going to take a sip now.
And the first thing you notice is it's got this lovely soft texture on the palate.
Just slips down very very easily.
The overall style is that is sweet and complex so again you get vanilla, you get a little bit of toffee or crème brûlée in there,
but then its almost like and explosion of this delicious floral and citrus fruit flavors.
Some mouth watering mandarin, oranges in there, and then a surprisingly long aftertaste you get this lovely flavors of vanilla. It's almost like peaches and vanilla ice cream.
So, that is Glenmorangie Original.
It's one of these amazing whiskeys which can satisfy new drinkers because of this softness but also appeals to connoisseur drinkers because of this incredible complexity.
