We will now review tethered operation...
First we will start off with the FireWire cables...
Plug in the first part into the computer...
Second connection is into the Phase One back...
There is a pattern on the back that matches the pattern of the actual connection cable...
Making it very simple to plug inn!
Lets now take a look at the Capture Tool...
In our Capture Tool - As soon as the connections are completed we have shutter speed and aperture settings -
As well as the camera listed, and a couple of other settings like ISO and the file format...
The next important thing to do is to create a gray balance or a white balance to neutralize the camera...
We have taken an image of the gray card, and now its important to set the camera to neutral!
To do this select the eye-dropper
Click on the gray card to take the setting, and now set camera - we are ready to go!
Other settings that are important here...
Next capture adjustments; I like to work with "Copy from Primary"
On both ICC profiles and all of the settings
This is particularly important because while making adjustments to the software, or with lighting...
I can see those adjustments on all consecutive images, after I made the changes...
OK!
Earlier on you saw us attach the Extension tube No. 3 to the 80mm Lens...
We have now completed our set, which is a macro jewelry shot...
I have just taken a gray balance, or a white balance card...
And taken an image - we have a gray balance on screen...
I think we are now ready for our final shot and I am using the cable release we attached earlier as well
And - just check that - looks good...
And Lets see what we have?
I think it is looking very good!
We are photographing here at f/2.8
Trying to get as shallow as possible depth of field
The front face of the watch, and just the back edge is in focus...
The back of the strap, right through the other strap is completely out of focus, and this is exactly the kind of look we are looking for!
I think this is the shot!
