Students and faculty can set their Blackboard notifications so that they receive an email
notifying them if they receive a course message in one of their blackboard courses. Here's
how that is done. After logging into the system, open the Global Navigation menu under your
name. Select Settings, all the way at the bottom o f the list. Then select Edit Notification
Settings. You can choose to make this setting change for one course, by selecting the course
under the "Edit Individual Course Settings" or if you're taking or teaching more than
one course and you'd like to be notified of getting a message in any of those courses,
you can do "Bulk Edit Notification Settings" for all the courses you are taking if you're
a student, or all the courses that you're teaching if you're an instructor. For this
example, I'm going to choose an individual course. I select the course, scroll down to
an area labeled Course Message Received. And I want to be sure that I have the email box
checked for that notification. Then I click submit. Now whenever I receive a course message
in that course, I'll receive an email notifying me of that course message.
