But Pilate, because he feared the crowd, delivered Jesus over to be crucified.
This morning you have to decide what are you going to do with Jesus. And you can
follow the crowd. You can listen to the crowd and out of fear of not being
popular, out of fear of not being accepted, out of fear of losing friends,
you can take the easy way out and you can do exactly what Pilate did: and that
is you just walk away from it. There's even...we know from the accounts
that Pilate tried to wash his hands. He ordered a basin and he would wash his
hands and he said, "look this man's blood is not on my hands." What we try to do is
sometimes go to church. We try to do good things. Why? To convince ourself that it's
okay that we've rejected Him, we're not following Christ. If you leave it up the
world to tell you what to do today, you're not going to follow Jesus. But if you
listen deep within you, you will hear another voice. The voice of the One who
created you. The One who made you for Himself and He will
call you to follow Him.
