My name's Zoe Baker
and I studied a BA Business Management and Finance course
at the University of Wolverhampton.
I did Business Management at school as a GNVQ
I really enjoyed it so I carried it on as an A'level
and I also did accounting.
I then decided to do it as a degree because I enjoyed it.
We've covered lots. Business Management covers all management
HR, finance, marketing and it's also like a global contents as well so it's quite broad.
I studied a bracketed route in finance.
I really enjoyed numbers so I chose to go down the finance route.
The lecturers were really good, anything you needed
they would help you with, so they used to give you their details at the start, like their email address
and number, if you had any difficulties you could just speak to them.
I used the careers centre for interview advice
so before I had an interview
I just emailed them and they booked me in
and went over all the different parts of an interview.
As part of my postgraduate certificate I had to do a placement
so I did a 10 week internship
with the UK IT Association and Stone's Throw Media.
Although I had to do the placement as part of my postgraduate certificate
I also got a lot more out of it
so I learnt skills in communication, teamwork, project management skills
and also it's just good for my CV.
