Hello, my name is Hans Kristjan and I'm the lead level designer of the
Front Line 3D team.
Today I want to show you the world map of Present Fear.
We have two sides - Danestan and New Wernestad.
The whole map is territory of Danestan
but New Wernestad attacked them because of oil.
These are the territories occupied by New Wernestad
and this is Danestan.
When you join the game, you can choose between those two sides.
This really doesn't matter which one you choose
only if they will get too uneven, the game will set some limits.
The map is really big. As you can see its one square is 5x5 km
so this is 25 sq km.
And there are 12x6 of those 25 sq km squares which is pretty much,
but the truth is that you can fly with an airplane or drive a car over the world
and that's the reason why it's so big.
As you can see, 50% of the world is just water.
You can use there boats and ships.
And about 90% of the land area is just for driving and everything
it's just nature for having fun.
The reamining 10% is more detailed, it's the main gameplay area for walking and shooting...
Well, what depends on shooting, there are three zones in the game.
In the middle of the map there's Yellow Zone.
Yellow Zone is a quite neutral area. It goes across the dam, across the Darry River.
If one side gets the upper hand, the other side will always push them back.
So everyone can have fun with fighting in here
with their tanks and all that stuff.
To access the Front Line you have to be a really good player.
You have to do many quests first, such as the Front Line quest and Assassination Attempt
The third zone is the Red Zone.
Red Zone is a really dangerous area.
There's not that much of fight, but it's totally overrun with people infected with the Test 545676.
There you can have sea battles and air fights...
Both sides have two main towns that are in danger of being attacked by the people infected with the Test.
There are also two little bit smaller towns. This is a seaport town and this is near the lake.
There are Garge Mountains. They're pretty high and there are tunnels under them.
In those tunnels you can fight against those creatures (they're called Infeticites).
And that's the horror part of the game.
I think that's all we're planning now, but if our game is successful because of YOU! ...
we will certainly constantly add many new updates and features.
Many people want to ask that how the heck are you going to do that? Oh my god!
the huge world?! Well, they want to ask that just because they know that
we're using BGE (Blender's Game Engine). Of course, we don't anymore. And there are just two simple reasons for that:
The first reason: it's damn slow and it's not proffesional. We have moved to Unity 3d.
Christian Stewart, our project scripting and overall leader is going to tell you more about that. Thank you.
