Hi, Room 42 students. Today, we’re going to make word cloud art pieces for part of our Mother’s Day gift.
You have already generated at least 15 adjectives that describe your mom.
Now it’s time to make a work of art with those wonderful words!
We will be using a website called Tagxedo to generate our Word Clouds.
Go to www.tagxedo.com
that’s t a g x e d o .com
Then click “Create”.
Click on the Load category in the left column.
Type in your adjectives in the “enter text” field.
Also, type the word “Mom”
“Mother” and maybe “Mamá”
Then click submit.
Next, click on the little arrow next to the Theme category in the left column.
Choose any color combination that has a white border around it,
which indicates a white background.
Since these will be printed, we want to make sure the background is white.
I’ll choose Aline, A L I N E, because it has lots of pinks and purples.
Next, it’s time to choose your shape.
Below the Options in the left column, click the arrow next to the Shape category.
Scroll down about halfway until you find the hearts.
Choose the heart that you wish to use.
and soon, your beautiful heart shape of adjectives will appear.
We’re almost done!
Now, you need to save your creation so I can print it in color.
Click on the Save | Share | Print category, near the top in the left sidebar.
then choose the 16mp, which stands for megapixels
jpg, which stands for jpeg.
A dialogue box will appear. Please type your name (I’ll type Mrs Stearns),
and make sure to save to the desktop
of the computer.
That way, I can save it and
print it in color later. Enjoy making
your wonderful creation for your mom!
