Welcome to the Learning Commons.
It's located on the 2nd floor of the Alden Library. If you have questions
about study rooms, printing, laptops, or software,
first check if you are on the 2nd floor of
the Alden Library, then proceed to the reference desk.
The sign above the reference desk reads
"Library services", but do not be confused, this is
the reference desk.
The reference desk can be seen from nearly every corner
of the learning commons.
If you cannot see the reference desk,
you are likely not on the second floor of Alden Library.
The reference desk will help you find information on research
and if the rest of the library is closed, will retrieve
books from the stacks.
Similary, the sign above the tech desk reads
technology services, but it is the tech desk.
If you need to check out a laptop or it's accessories,
the tech desk will put down their Ipods and get one for you.
Laptops can be checked out for 3 hours
at a time with your student ID.
Once in your possession, they cannot
leave the library.
The tech desk can assist you with software
offered by the library or if you are having
problems printing.
The learning commons is equipped with ten study rooms.
These can be checked out for three hours at a time.
This must be done online at the library's website.
But most of all remember, if you are on the second floor of Alden Library,
and need assistance, we are here to help.
