Saran Sidime '14: I think I've gotten carried away in some of my class readings. A class
I'm really passionate about right now is Development in Crisis: Global Challenges. It really is
one of those classes that makes me feel that I'm more part of the world.
Professor: It's important to encourage the market to be more environmentally friendly.
But at the end of the day, as resources become more scarce, prices will increase.
Sidime: Being an international relations major, I love being trained to look at the world
in different kinds of perspectives. You know, I'm being asked to have a background, or at
least to develop a background, in economics. I'm being asked to attend politics courses.
I'm given the option to take classes like Development in Crisis: Global Challenges.
And I think that when you are passionate about humanitarian work or passionate with work
in international relations or work that has to do with multiple kinds of nations, and
how they interact, these kinds of classes can be really essential to what it is that
you're trying to do later on.
You know, classes I'm passionate about, you know, subjects like human rights, and, you
know, the rights of civilians in the war zone, and conflicts, and, you know, those are the
things that just make me come alive. I mean, I can go on and on if you ask me, and I could
lose track of time now!
