This video is going to be about dropping a student from Moodle. If you withdraw a student
from a class you may want to pull them out of your Moodle class as well. However you
want to make sure that you don't just remove them from the class you want to actually switch
their role into the blocked student role. The reason for this is it is going to allow
you to retrieve records if you need to later for that student but you can make it so they
don't show up in your gradebook anymore. So we are going to do those steps, so what we
are going to do is we are going to start by coming down into the people block click on
participants. Click on the little notepad next to participants, click on the student
role then you would select all of the students you wanted to remove, you can control click
to select more than one student at a time. You are going to select your students and
then you're going to click on remove. Then you're going to come up up here and role to
assign and change this to blocked student. And then you want to make sure you go back
in and find all of the students that have been, that you just removed. You are going
to add that student back in. You want to make sure you click this little check box here,
you don't want it to show up in the gradebook. Then you're going to do assign roles in course.
So now that student has moved into the blocked student role and is no longer in the student
role, go back into the course, go into our grades you'll see that nobody shows up because
that was the only student I had in this class and so they are no longer in the gradebook.
If later this student did something you could just go back in and change the roles back
in whatever grades you had for that student would show back up. That's about it. Pretty
easy. Thanks.
