I'm Dean Kathleen Potempa,
and as I told reporters this morning, it's a great day for the School of Nursing and
it's a great day for health care.
This new building
is part of the continued evolution of the university,
as with all of our new facilities,
what's really important is what happens inside.
New facilities are really about saying to our faculty, students, and staff
you will always have what you need
to carry out your work.
You bring together scholarship
and research
continually improving care,
costs lowering
and constant compassion.
Congratulations on your new facility especially on all
that you will do there.
The ground-breaking we need isn't just for a new building
it's breaking ground for a real solutions to help problems we face
together and now in the future.
It's finding groundbreaking ways to work collaboratively across disciplines,
institutions and communities
to make sure that we're fully supporting and utilizing nursing
not for nursing sake but for the sake of our children, families, and communities.
As our nation grapples with the challenges of health care delivery
the growing need for highly skilled health professionals,
both practitioners and researchers, is key.
Our students always ready to take up a challenge are right there.
This project truly is about students and we are excited to fill this new building
with life as only a nurse can do.
3, 2, 1, dig! (cheers)
