Hey guys, I just finished watching a J-drama called "Sprout"
starring Chinen Yuri from Hey!Say!JUMP!
Morikawa Aoi...
Fujiko Kojima...
and Jesse Lewis.
Before we start, I think I should warn you that
I'm gonna be super honest...
and probably a little bit bias in this review...
because I was stunned by this sweet-warm-gentle atmosphere
that I get from watching this drama.
I really recommend Sprout for those of you who wants to
remember some nostalgic moments you had with your high school crush,
or if you are still a high-schooler yourself.
Sprout is about first love.
Miku, the main character, wants to be with Souhei,
a really nice, friendly, good looking, popular--
he's a special guy she thought could be her soulmate/fated person.
Yeah, that's pretty much the only information I can give to you,
I don't want to reveal the plot because
I will probably ruin the fun for you.
So I guess... it's best for me to just reviewing
the other elements in this drama besides the plot.
First of all, I'm gonna talk about the acting.
The casts were adorable, but the acting is ... umm...
is good, but you can tell that they are still learning...?
Especially Jesse Lewis (sorry).
He is still so young, he was only about sixteen when he played this drama.
maybe that's why he looked nervous.
But props to Chinen Yuri for doing such a great job,
making his character believable... and lovable.
And to Morikawa Aoi, for portraying an innocent girl naturally.
And to Fujiko Kojima. She is very pretty,
and although she made mistakes for being indecisive at times,
I still root for her.
In conclusion, I end up liking everyone in this drama.
I want all of them to be happy.
But what's drama without a tear-jerker moment, right?
I admit I shed a tear or two in some part of this drama,
because although I'm in my twenties,
and I way passed my high school time,
I still can feel emphatized with these young characters...
...and the problems they have to deal with in their life.
Yeah, the drama was really well done. ^ ^
As for the story... nothing was really complicated or dramatic,
they keep it simple and cute...
I do feel at ease while watching it.
Oh and the soundtrack is so beautiful...
It fits some moments in this drama perfectly.
Overall, I give it a 9 out of ten.
I take one point down because I'm not really happy with the ending.
I wish the drama was a little bit longer, though...
because there are some sides of the characters
that needs to be explained a little bit more.
In the end this is a really short, light, floaty, sweet,
adorable, summer easy-breezy teenage drama.
I love it. I fell in love with Chinen Yuri's caharacter now...
And I'm looking forward to see Chinen Yuri's next drama.
Okay, I think that's about it then, thank you guys for watching.
I hope you enjoy it. Bye :D
