We are with the Honda Civic Sedan.
The Civic that is the compact sedan of the Honda had a slight facelift a short time ago and it is our test guest this week.
Let’s see what the Civic Sedan with 1.6-liter petrol engine and automatic gearbox is promising us?
Let’s analyze it together...
The Civic Sedan had a slight facelift a short time ago.
With this facelift the grill and some parts of the front bumper have been renewed and attained a different outlook.
In general terms the lines that reflects the Honda brand identity confront us in the Civic Sedan too.
The new design bi-colored wheel rims render the car more elite appearance.
Even though the rear is not very specifical it definitely look more sportive than its current rivals.
Although the cockpit of the Civic Sedan resembles the cockpit of the Civic Hatchback that I have reviewed previously, it is not the same.
In the driver oriented cockpit all the controls installed near at hand and it is manipulated easily.
The indicators are two-layered just as in the Hatchback, below the rev counter and above the digital speedometer.
For your small items large space is offered in front of the gear lever.
Besides, there are two-cup holders and the armrest is wide enough to accommodate many of your articles.
The materials used in the cockpit are made from hard plastic but the sense of quality is not bad at all.
The living space offered at the rear is good.
Class standard knee and head room is offered.
Also as there is no transmission tunnel the third passenger can sit here in comfort.
Although the 440-liter boot capacity is not very assertive it is in a similar vein as the rivals.
Let’s consider the engine and the driving features of the Civic Sedan.
The Civic Sedan, which is, manufactured in the Honda’s Şekerpınar Factory is sold in our country
with only 1.6-liter petrol engine that develops 125 HP and 152 Nm of torque.
You can purchase this engine either with 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic gearbox.
Additionally if economy is your important precedence than you can purchase the Civic Sedan with an LPG kit that is installed by the factory.
In the test car that I’ve been driving this LPG is functioning.
Owing 35-liter LPG tank positioned in the boot instead of the spare wheel,
you can drive the Civic Sedan either with petrol or with LPG.
Naturally the 1.6-liter variable valve timing petrol engine’s low and mid rpm’s are not lively.
But as you reach higher rpm the engine recovers and offers performance that satisfies the expectations.
The classical type 5-speed automatic gearbox’s changes are soft and smooth.
But its transition speed is slow and due to it’s being only 5-speed, it unfortunately does not contribute positively to the performance.
Nevertheless the engine and the gearbox work in harmony
and if you are not too much performance enthusiast you will be happy with this twosome.
Even though you do not need it, to be able to change the gears from the pedals behind the steering wheel is still an advantage.
The driving comfort of the Civic Sedan is at a similar level with its rivals in this class.
The impact absorption of the suspensions are good, it doesn’t give any trouble.
I can say that its road handling is reasonable.
In my opinion the Civic Sedan is behind its rivals in the matter of insulation.
Although it doesn’t let you down in normal driving when the rpm and the speed increases
you can hear the road and the engine noise inside the cockpit.
Despite the fact that the Civic Sedan is both LPG and petrol driven, I’ll only share with you the petrol fuel consumption.
However, if there are viewers who have driven this car with LPG for a long time
they can leave a comment under the video of their km covered experiences.
I have been driving this car for a week and have covered 300 km at that time.
The trip computer at the moment indicates 9,6-liter fuel consumption averages.
It is hard to say that this value is low.
But to be able to compensate the value by using the LPG is small but still an advantage.
Although the Honda Civic Sedan is not a very economical choice
it achieves to raise the frugal potentiality by the LPG kit offered by the factory warranty.
If economy comes before performance for you then you can add the Honda Civic Sedan with LPG to your list.
See you...
