Hi everyone. I'm Dr. David Reath and I'm here to talk about this week's Truth-O-Meter Tuesday question.
Well the topic of this week's question was facelifting and what we said was that
the best results from a facelift are achieved by maximum skin tightening
that is the concept of pulling on the skin as hard as you can to get the best result.
Pretty much everybody got the right answer to this question was was false. That is NOT what makes facelifting look good.
and facelifts that don't take into consideration of the way things change are the ones that don't give you a narural look and that's what people are worried about.
That's what's given facelifts as a whole a bad rap so to speak.
The approach that works the best in facelifting is to take the cheek fat that has moved down over time
and moving it vertically upward because you're putting things back where they were
and where they're supposed to be. And by doing that you are restoring the younger, natural look.
there are a lot of procedures out there some advertise it takes one hour an you look a million years younger
Those aren't very good procedures because they don't address how our faces change as we age
Again that's what gives you the look that you want where you look like yourself and don't look like some freak
That's what people are afraid of because there have been some very high visibility people who have not had the best works that is available.
So the answer to this week's question is false. Let's find out who this week's winner is.
We have a $100 giftcard for you. Come into the office and pick that up at your convenience.
Melanie, congratulations, you're this week's winner
For everyone else. Thanks for playing.
