I found Trident online, of course. I had never known anybody or experienced anybody who had
gone to Trident. I just researched Northwestern, North Central, a bunch of different ones and
I put out a lot of emails and I ended up finding Trident and I liked what the program looked
like. I liked that it was all online, and that there were no textbooks, that you as
a learner could go and find the information and create your own learning as you go and
demonstrate knowledge.
I like that mastery learning style. I really liked, the fee structure looked good, let's
talk about that. The structure looked good when I looked at it and the timelines as far
as getting through the program looked like something that was doable and I had been thinking
about it for probably three or four years before that, and I started getting serious
and decided it was something I could do, and I wanted to do, and I should do, and that's
when I decided on Trident.
I found Trident online and turned out to be a good decision. When I got to the end of
my dissertation it was very critical. The faculty at TUI allowed me with an ability
to be flexible in how fast I turned in my assignments. Their quick turnaround on responding
to my drafts and proposals on my dissertation made it possible.
If they had not accelerated the process, I couldn't have accelerated my process. I go
back to work in August I'm a K-12 teacher and I go back to teaching just the way I have
been in the past few years, and eventually actually when my degree is posted, then I
will look to maybe start finding some ancillary work, extra work.
Teaching online like I learned through TUI. To teach teachers how to teach, that was my
goal. My goal was to put myself in position through this PhD. To be able to impart what
I have learned over the last 30 years as a teacher and share that knowledge with teachers
who are coming into the profession.
