[What is the most important issue to you this election season?]
I think the economy is extremely important but, in addition to that, I think uhm. .. some intelligent thought going into our
medical sytem and dealing with uhm... people's severe problems, in part caused by the economy, are very important.
[Are you hopeful about the future?]
I'm not very hopeful, primarily because of the extreme partisanship in Washington. There seems to be very few
statesmen; there seems to be only politicians. And they are more interested in fighting for their side,
rather than for the American people. I also think Citizens United was one of the worse things that ever happened.
And if I had my druthers, I would like to see the Electoral College done away with. Living in a small state or unless you live
in one of the super states, I feel like my vote just simply doesn't count. So I would like to see the Electoral College eliminated.
[Do you think the political system is broken? If so, how would you fix it?]
Yes, I think the political system is broken. Uhm. . .part of the reason is there is too much money involved.
The lobbysts have a much stronger voice than the citizens do and, uhm. . .there is too much bickering and fighting
between the red side and the blue side. So much partisanship and it simply does not work for the needs of the
American people. Uhm. . .If there would be statesmen instead of politicians and cooperate with one another,
things might be better.
