Hello
The fragility of the glass tanks made me create a tank in which the glass tube is protected.
The result is this
The tank you see
And its name is, The Cage
It's a tank with 22mm diameter and 35mm in length.
And of course, with quartz - glass tube
Its details.
Made from Stainless Steel 304L
This makes refilling a lot easier
The sleeve threads with the caps, so the O-rings of the caps don't put pressure on the glass tube, they only work for insulation
Let's see it in more detail
These are the pieces of the tank
We will see them one by one, to understand them
We will start with the bottom cap
You will first notice that the inner O-ring is sitting very high
For specific reasons, that we will explain later
The base of the outer O-ring is very thin
So it can take the glass tube, without making contact with the metal part of the base
The glass tube is made from quartz-glass
And it has been melted with fire on the sides to create this smooth finish, so pieces of the glass don't break from the sides. This is called fire-finish.
The caps are constructed this way, so we don't have connection between the metal base and the glass tube when assembling our tank.
Meaning, the metal from the base that holds the O-ring.
It is very easy to put the glass tube on, because the O-ring is not putting any pressure on the glass to hold it in place. It just works for insulation.
Since the glass is not being pressured by the O-rings, it can even be put in place from an angle, without breaking.
The sleeve holds the top cap with the bottom cap
This is the reason why the O-rings don't need to put pressure on the glass tube, to hold it in place
Let's put the sleeve into place
The sleeve protects the glass
And the O-rings protect the glass from any shock from dropping
And the O-rings protect the glass from shock from dropping the tank.

The top cap
The base for the inner O-ring here is very thin and all the way up
We can see that it is made the same way from the inside as well
This make refilling a lot easier
Putting the top cap back in place
We will notice that is gets a little tighter, as the outer O-ring of the top cap starts to go in the glass tube.
When it is in place, it is completely insulated and the O-rings are in such position, that they can absorb some of the sock from dropping or hitting the tank.
When we want to unthread the top cap, we always hold the glass and the sleeve together.
The reason is, if the upper O-ring is tigher than the lower, the glass don't come off with the top cap as well.
For this reason, we put red silicone o-rings at the top cap and black o-rings at the bottom
For this reason, we put red silicone o-rings at the top cap and black o-rings at the bottom
When the O-rings are dry, the red o-ring creates more suction than the black, so remember to keep the o-rings wet, if you want to unthread it to refill
Let's see it with an atty. Let's put the ΣΟΦΙΑ inside.
With the ΣΟΦΙΑ inside the tank, we can remove tha base with pushing the ΣΟΦΙΑ a bit downwards, because the inner O-ring of the bottom cap is sitting very high.
We can feel the liquid control passing through the o-ring of the bottom cap
With a small movement we can feel that the liquid control has completely pass through the inner o-ring of the bottom cap and we can remove the base , without it being completely out of the bottom cap.
The channel at the bottom cap also helps when trying to put the ΣΟΦΙΑ back in place, so it doesn't thread badly when putting it into place
To refill
We push the tank up a little
We see the gap created, very close to the surface, to refill.
Tha Cage can hold about 3,5 ml of liquid
Even with the short upper body of the ΣΟΦΙΑ
Let's see it this way as well.
It will work the same way and very easily
We can see it insulates well. Let's put it on a mod.
It sits very well
If we put on one of our drip tips, that help refilling, such as the Pipe or Nail
By moving it up just a bit, we can insulate the tank and remove it without trouble.
Refilling this way is very easy, since the gap it leaves between the Drip tip and the Top cap, is big.
This was The Cage tank
Keep in mind that quartz-glass tubes never have the same inner diameter
So for each piece, specific o-rings will come together.
So, if we need to change glass tube, we must put on the tank the o-rings of the new glass tube.
Let's refill and vape
That's all for now. Thank yyou for watching.Goodbye!
