Even without installed Logitech drivers the B910s image quality is very convincing!
Especially in terms of it's depth of focus, it outclass all lesser models, including the C510.
Even the C510 can only keep up with the B910s color depths and quality.
I don't believe the ZEISS lens has anything to do with it, as a ZEISS lens
was installed into the old QuickCam Pro 9000 wich only featured 2 megapixels of image res.
By saying this, i hit the nail onto its head.
I believe, the B910 and C910 outclass its lesser models in terms of depth of focus
that much, because they have a very high resolution CCD installed.
Both models give you a resolutiuon of 5.0 megapixels.
Without installed drivers, you get the autofocus to work already.
You cannot disable it though. More precisely: You can disable it, but
you cannot configure the focus afterwards. You can configure the setting
as much as you want - to the maximum or minimum - it doesn't have any efect.
Interestingly, the autofocus is disabled aswell, if you choose manual control.
Without Logitech drivers installed, the audio quality is...
...on the one hand improved, on the other hand declined!
The RightSound technology (noise surpression and echo canceling, wich is
done on a software basis) is not featured, if you use the UVC Windows Driver.
Thats why cou can hear all ambient noise right now,
my PC. Well... I think i'll install the Logitech Driver
to demonstrate you the Differences.
Like its Sister-Model C910, the B910 features the Noise Cancelation feature,
wich silences my disturbing PC. You regrettably notice the clear cutback
in terms of audio quality on this model, like you did on the C910.
The Sound is like... how to say... shrouded... like it cranked the sound.
It just wasnt nice like this. So if you spend your Money on this
webcam, i would recomend you, to buy a good headset aswell.
Thats the most effective way. Depending on your application, another resolution
would be to buy a microphone like this one, but if you don't want a chunk like that
hehe... well... go, get a headset! In Terms of Image Quality, the B910 had
(compared to lesser Logitech models) the least benefits from installing the Driver,
together with the C910. Like i mentioned with the C910,
the most likely reason is the 5 Megapixel camera sensor.
There is almost no image noise. You really have to say that.
Of course it is a completely different level in terms of image definition,
in terms of color fidelity, compared to the lesser models... well...
Even the medicore model, the C510... simply cannot compete to this.
It may catch up with the C910's color fidelity, but as soon as i'm talking about the
image definition, it has to admit defeat. Like i've said before: The C910 and the
running B910 are basically the same. For me the reason is simply that they are
(besides the printing on the glass pane) the same. Okay, they are noticed as
different cams, but sorry, the specs and lowdown tells me, they are the same.
But that's another story and i don't want to get too much out of topic.
The lighting conditions are as perfect as can be. It's 12:15 PM right now,
it's slightly cloudy outside, the window is right next to me.
Ideal conditions for all webcams. And i mean it! Of course for the B910 aswell.
I manually tuned the settings for this webcam. I tried to configure
all settings, that normally are done automatically by myself.
The Sliders for exposure and stuff are normally set to manual configuration.
The white balance... ...pardon, of course i meant it's set to
AUTOMATIC configuration! The white balance is done automatically,
the focus is tweaked automatically. All of theese make using this webcam
quite comfortable, but its a tradeoff between simplicity and quality,
as you probably can see now. As for the image noise for this cam,
i'd like to know, if the image quality can keep up, if in the evening the lighting
conditions aren't good anymore. Let's do another shot to find out! Cya!
Its now 10:00 PM. It's June, sunset. The lightning condition is penumbral.
That's what i'd call it.
The Webcams configuration is fully automatic. Well, i'd like to say the color
didn't suffer that much up to now. Actually i want to claim, that the main
motive (me) looks even better, thanks to the lesser light from the outside.
Now, there is a significant noise in the background though,
didn't occur before. But i'd call it passable, quite acceptable.
It's still capable for Video-Chat without any reservation
and thats all you normally would do this late.
And now for the late night shot... It's 11:23 PM. It's pitch black outside for
quite some time now. The cam again is set to defaults completely.
Everything is being controlled by the webcam or stays at default settings.
There is an ESL corresponding to a 60W bulb behind the TFT to iluminate the wall.
But enough for the specs. Since the cam does all configuration
automated now, the illuminant calculated using the hardware.
The hardware reproduces amazing illuminant.
The most amazing fact is, that this room actually isn't as white,
as you see it right now. I'd call it some kind of bright, earthy tint,
like a noticeable yellowness. But my bleat is done on a very high level,
as the image sharpness for the B910 corresponds to the C910, being brilliant -
even on late night! Of course it cannot catch up with its brilliance seen at noon,
but i think no one would ever expect it to be.
The noise stayed almost as low as seen on the noon shot. I have seen hardship
cases with the lesser webcams, but now, if you take a look to the stillage or
the glass pane of the door, you almost won't see any noise now.
Of course its slightly noticeable - sure - but it's a completely new level,
compared to the lesser webcams. You cannot deny it.
